The Rode NTG-2 is a professional quality condenser microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern designed for film, television and other production applications. The NTG-2 can be powered either by 48V phantom power or an AA battery. The battery option is useful when a camera or other connected device cannot supply phantom power to the microphone.
The supplied windshield is ideal for reducing plosives and light wind noise, but for outdoor use you should consider using a blimp or other wind/handling noise reduction solution.
