Born from years of research and development, the ARRI Trinity 2 combines the functionality of a traditional Steadicam with innovative features and advanced electronics, redefining the way you capture dynamic shots with precision and creativity.

Trinity allows you to move a camera in ways that are not possible with a Steadicam, and it can often be used to achieve a more efficient production schedule as it may be used instead of grip equipment that incurs additional cost and setup time - dollies, jibs, etc.

Music Video Example

Director of photography Michael Lincoln (with operator Sam Bennett) used the Trinity 2 extensively - combined with the Alexa 35 camera and TLS Cooke Speed Panchro lenses - for the 2024 single Teardrop from Melbourne band Telenova.

The music video provides a good example of the range of camera movement possible. Full 360° rolls were combined with more subtle movements to realise the creative vision for the project.

Performative Example

In this example piece, Ester, you can see how the Trinity 2 allows the camera to be placed over obstacles that are integral to the scene. The tables and bench seat are key parts of the set, and yet the camera is able to float above both in order to achieve the desired frame.

The camera also changes height significantly throughout the piece. This could not be achieved with a traditional Steadicam.

Improvements Over Previous Generation

The Trinity 2 has several important improvements over the previous Trinity - including the ability of the head to perform a full 360° roll (or multiple 360° rolls, depending on cable length), a second control joystick to allow the operator to control both tilt and roll (the joysticks can also be assigned to other functions), and an onboard control panel for rapid fine-tuning of the system.

A key feature of the Trinity is that it allows for the camera height to be changed significantly within a shot. Here the operator is able to put the camera close to the ground while maintaining a stable and comfortable stance.

The ARRI Trinity 2 in javelin mode allows the camera to be close to actors while the operator can hang back to give them space, as well as a range of other movements.
